Network functions have moved from dedicated hardware to virtual machines (VNFs) and, increasingly, to containers orchestrated by Kubernetes (CNFs). Each step brings flexibility and automation, but also new layers to understand: the infrastructure, the orchestration platform, the networking plugins and the network function itself.
KL-UK helps teams deploy, integrate and operate these workloads, and troubleshoot problems that cross the boundary between platform and application.
Capabilities
- Virtual Network Function support
- Cloud-Native Network Function support
- Containerised telecom workloads
- Kubernetes-based platforms where applicable
- Deployment and configuration assistance
- Network function integration
- Platform troubleshooting
- Health monitoring
- Lifecycle support
- Operational assistance
Common cloud-native telecom challenges
- Network functions that deploy successfully but fail health checks or never become ready
- Data-plane performance problems involving SR-IOV, DPDK or secondary networks
- Configuration drift between environments and inconsistent deployments
- Upgrades, scaling and rollback procedures that need validation before production
- Monitoring gaps where platform metrics and network function KPIs are not correlated
Working across platform and application
Cloud-native issues often sit between teams: the platform looks healthy, yet the network function is not. We look at both sides — pod and node state, networking, resources and events alongside the network function’s own logs and KPIs — to identify where the problem really lies.
How an engagement works
- Discuss — tell us about your requirements, environment and timescales.
- Agree scope — we confirm deliverables, approach, availability and any onsite or on-call arrangements.
- Deliver — we carry out the agreed engineering, testing or support activities.
- Document and hand over — findings, configurations and procedures are recorded for your teams.
